3 Quick things to share
Wyoming, a wedding anniversary and a wonderful piece of writing
1. Thrilled to say there will be a Red State Revival close to home: Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 11th. Tickets here.
Speaking of the tour, I cannot possibly express what a joy these have been! THANK YOU to everyone who has showed up so far. Your company and hugs and singing and laughter have been a delight! God willing, we are going to keep this up. Since we aren’t doing any media interviews or promotion, it’s all word-of-mouth so if you know anyone in these areas please invite them:
Scottsdale, Arizona (ALMOST sold-out)
Salt Lake City, Utah (Lots of tickets left)
Boise, Idaho (Lots of tickets left)
Charleston, South Carolina (Lots of tickets left)
Raleigh, North Carolina (close to sold out)
Grand Rapids, Michigan (close to sold out)
Cheyenne, Wyoming (just went on sale!)
Come say hi and give me a hug!
2. It’s our one-year wedding anniversary!
Here are some of my favorite things about that weekend:
A “Reverse Registry”.
We are in our 50s and do not need any more shit in our house, in fact we need LESS. So we decided to make a list on-line of things we no longer wanted. Our wedding guests came over during our open house the day before the wedding and left with whatever they signed up to take off our hands. We got rid of so much!
“The Blessing of the Bride” (My sister, daughter, and a gaggle of girlfriends all came over that morning while I was getting ready and prayed their blessings over me.)
Our friends decorated the space and did all the flowers for us, as a gift:
The “exchange of rings” during the ceremony took the form of father-daughter tattoo artists (dear friends of ours) giving us our “rings”.
Our friends played the music: the brilliant Matthew Morris and Rachel Kurtz.
We cut the cake as soon as the ceremony ended so that anyone who wanted cake at any time during the evening (even before dinner if need be) could have it. I hate waiting all night for cake :)
DANCING!
But the very very best thing is getting to live a life with this one:

3. This gorgeous piece of writing
Normally I would wait to share this in the next “Stuff I’m Into” post I send out regularly to paid subscribers, but this is too good to wait to share.
Shaped for People: Sacred Harp Singing in the Age of AI by Mary Margaret Alvarado
(from Issue 124 of IMAGE Journal)
That’s all for now.
Sending my love,
Nadia

Reverse Registry!! Brilliant. We have just moved into a new home and have a pile of stuff we don’t need in this space. This is what we’ll do when we welcome friends and neighbors here - offer these things as a Reverse Housewarming sort of thing! Thank you for this delightful idea!
Mazel tov!
