Amen! I needed to pray this just now. Trump and his cohorts trigger the worst in me. I can’t stand to hear is voice or look at him without telling him to go fuck himself and worse. I thank you that I can share this here without being judged.

Something I read last week went something like this-"Love and hate(rage) come from the same place in your heart. Love cannot help but see injustice as morally repulsive. If you did not love, you would not be repulsed." I'm pretty certain Jesus understood that.

Mothers Day 2025. 82 year old husband falls while weed whacking. Breaks C-1&2, and sternum. I am 73 and disabled having had polio at 3.5 months, I can no longer walk or stand, I use an electric scooter. After stabilising and assessment and planning for transfer to rehab, has several episodes of not being able to breathe, then scan showing pneumonia and some blood clots and a week of ICU. Taking it 15 minutes by 15 minutes, (to he'll with one day at a time!) I don't know if he will live or die. I thank the Lord for cellphone and texts. I give praise for zoom morning prayer group of several denominations and states, they ground me in prayer and faith and hope. I still care what trump and his demonic minions do, especially for Medicare and health care. I'm thankful for a tablet that I can read from, listen to music, keep in touch on Facebook with Daughter's of the King. I'm grateful.

That's more than I can image having to deal with so yes 15 minutes at a time sounds wise...also am myself grateful for some things the internet brings to me - like this place and getting to know people's stories like your own. xo

15 min x 15 min seems like the best thing for you and your husband right now. Please take care of yourself as you and others care for him.

I, too, appreciate the internet for keeping up on what's happening, and my phone for contacts with friends and family. It's the mindless scrolling that I need to do less of.

Thank you! It's been a rough week for Bill and me and our 48 y/o daughter and her family. I appreciate every moment of prayer. Fortunately, the pulmonologist in the unit was my doctor 15+ years ago. 💗💗💗💗

Marcie...I will pray for you today. My father lived his life in a wheelchair from polio, so I have some understanding of what you face. You must be overwhelmed right now with your poor husband in such a bad way. Sending you love.

I watched “Quilters” on Netflix last night and thought of you. It tells of a program in a high security prison where men without infractions spend their days in an area for making quilts to give to foster children on their birthdays. The men make incredible choices of colors and designs, and it helps their sanity during their very long stretches in prison. It made me wonder how magically women could do the same thing.

I am working on my sermon for tomorrow and each time the phone indicates a new message has arrived I look! I'm silencing the device and will concentrate on the text.... the WORD of John.

Thank you for the reminder ♡

Thank you once again for using your online time for good instead of evil. ;-) I also need to spend *less* time scrolling, but not eliminate it entirely. Some of the greatest wisdom I've encountered in my life has been online (here included). I just need to be mindful of when I'm seeking wisdom and when I'm seeking something less healthy. Your prayer is perfect.

Amen. Beautiful flowers. God is awesome. I believe posting prayers on the Internet is ok with God. I will use it for myself. For the last month I made a rule to myself that I would not look at my phone until after coffee, praying, reading some scripture, and meditating. I broke my rule twice. Asked God for forgiveness and got back on track. Now I need to quit looking at my phone before going to sleep. Many blessings to all

Nadia - did you come wandering in my neighborhood and didn't stop by? I'm sure some of those flowers were from my yard! I haven't been on FB in ages and don't miss it one bit. my dosnfall is the morning paper - yes, a real paper. I can skip what I want(I usually do) and find the funnies (skipping even the political ones there) and believe that there are god people out there and in here. Remember, look for the helpers - love, Teresa

It might have seemed hypocritical to you to post that prayer online, but how else would all of us have seen it. All of us who needed to read that, and who need to hold it close in our hearts. Thank you- as always, and again

This might sound kind of odd but I realized awhile back that I felt like I was not doomscrolling but trying to “hopescroll” and getting disappointed almost every time. All this connectivity seems to promise hope - knowledge of good stuff, or at worst a feeling of empowerment by getting out in front of bad news. Not getting taken by surprise, getting a chance to plan ahead for bad things. It lures me with a promise that it breaks, that I should come on, try some hopescrolling, but doomscrolling is its true identity.

It's really cold & wet here and The wayside chapel is handing out dry socks & fresh shoes to those sleeping rough or trudging to various social services. There's been a large increase in need.

Every Sunday at Kings Cross a roast lunch is served which costs $4.50 or in USD a squillion $ thanks to the weird exchange rate.

Thank you for reminding me that Spring has sprung & will return again here. Also to get off the internet. 💜🙏

Sister, did you know you can set daily time limits on FB, YouTube, TikTok, etc... I started at an hour and a half, now down to 45 minutes per day! I'm excited about this.
