I was addicted to benzodiazepines. My boyfriend had recently died and I was on the way to a grief group Pastor. As I was driving there a “voice” said tell him you don’t need help with bereavement as much as you need help with being a drug addict. So I did and he pointed across the street and said that is a great rehab facility in hospital. I went to that rehab 14 years ago and I’m still active in AA and sober.

I know the Holy Spirit personally. I was set-up by the Holy Spirit using an elaborate series of “coincidences” to get me to go to an AA meeting. My intent was to use the meeting to stall for time until I could just die. Surprise, the Holy Spirit met me at the AA meeting for a conversion in the midst of blinding light to tell me to “ Just Ask” for help and I could stop drinking. I said can it really be that simple ? to which the Spirit replied “ Just ask”

I have 9 years of continuous sobriety this month on the 22nd. Then after completing the 12 steps, I received my vocation to work with women alcoholics in the criminal justice system. I was very frightened as I drove around the high fence topped with coils of barbed wire thinking I might be stabbed inside. So I asked. I would be dead now had the Holy Spirit not taken matters in hand. All praise and glory to the triune God.
