Dear Nadia,

I’m a UMC pastor in South Carolina….pretty red here, but not all of us! If you do your Red State Revival….my church will host you in West Columbia, SC! It’ll piss some folks off, but I still run too fast to be burned at the stake!

Hi Nadia! I am the queer Communications Director of an affirming UMC in Frisco, Texas (and an Iliff alumn💜). We would LOVE to host you. We work hard to be a beacon of love and light in Texas - so much so that we named ourselves Grace Avenue. Please consider adding Texas to your list & let me know what we can do to get you here. Texas needs you! My email is baylee@graceavenue.org.

I’m in Dallas, Baylee. At Northaven UMC. We need to connect! We definitely would love to help with whatever reviving happens, and any opportunities to invite others we might not normally worship with.

In North Alabama it is. I'm a Episcopalian born into a Southern Baptist family, I get to see it up close but nothing I say seems to help. It only pulls us further apart. I can't keep my mouth shut though, these matters are too important and I can't 1) let my children see me just accepting some of my family's ideals 2) let my grandchildren think that I agree with their their grand uncles and aunts, and their cousins because I quietly went along with everything that was said. Our oldest(11) has already started asking questions so I can't do this anymore. It's not fair to them

Hi Leslie, yes to your comment!! I Love Nadia! We need Nadia! I live in a terribly conservative and religioous area in SE, PA, where no way ever would Nadia be accepted by conservatives.

My concern is, my experience with conservatives who shut down anyone who by them iins judged as a threat to their way - heavily tatooed, uses "naughty words", and lives free - leads me to fear her message may be shut out as a result of their cautious self-righteousness.

Could this be the case in other conservative areas of the country?

I am interested in feedback.

I worry about that, too. Fear of the other is such a common theme in today’s world.

Holy cow, Nadia! What a gutsy and basically Christian idea! And, somewhat contrarian for some in your Red states. The very best of wishes from this person in Toronto, Canada. Who knows, you might get offered a barn/stable for a venue?

Consider First Baptist Church in Greenville SC. Corner of Faris and Cleveland streets. They hosted the Gay Mens Chorus of SF a few years ago

We need you in Sioux Falls, SD. I will ask Pastor Paul at Peace Lutheran if they have room for that many. I believe they do. He’d love to have you.

Our country needs this, especially in red states.

A former pastor, over 15 years ago, used to say "Whenever we build a wall, God is always on the other side." This was long before Trump called for wall building, long before I began to cringe (or mutter curse words) as I go by a house with a political sign for (fill in blank). I'm in a fairly solid blue region, so can't help with churches. But ... yes. Thank you, Nadia.

This felt like a lightning bolt- this is not the moment to concede the Christian faith to nationalists. - I feel challenged (in a good way- by that statement. Thank you. I have much praying/thinking/actioning to do.
